I'm about halfway through "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel, and it's quite good.
I'd heard it was bizarre, and I thought I'd hate it. But it's become one of those books that I tell myself I'll only read one more chapter, and end up reading another five. It's a bit gory - enough to sort of give me the heebie-jeebies - but it's rather intriguing.
So, so far, I'd recommend it. I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, let it just be stated here that in this book there is a TIGER named RICHARD. A tiger. It's full name is Richard Parker, actually, but still. I have longed to name a dog Richard for the longest time. Who names an animal Richard? No one! Precisely! I think it's fabulous.
No one else thinks so. Except Yann Martel, apparently.
Well, it's just me and you, Yann. And Richard Parker.
