Madison to Chicago on foot.

Some odd number of months ago I was asked by a nearly-stranger to join her Ragnar Relay team. I call her "nearly-stranger" because I didn't know her very well then, nonetheless anyone else on the team, BUT HEY! FUN! A 200-MILE RELAY WITH STRANGERS IN VANS! I'm in. Well, the relay is this weekend. Don't worry, I know everyone now. They don't suck at all. In fact, I dare say I like them. AND IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME. Ten people, two giant vans, 30+ hours, 200 miles, Madison to Chicago, baby wipe baths and port-o-potties. I really can't think of a more relaxing way to spent a weekend.

I've got four legs of the relay -- a total of 28 miles. Ha. Ha ha. HA HA HA. Shit. I guess it's not too much different from my birthday run, when I split up 29 miles throughout the day, but this is over the course of a day, and night, and another day, and shitty food and no sleep. So basically it's going to be super easy.

We start Friday morning and finish in Chicago sometime Saturday evening, where there will be champagne and smelly people and tired legs and hopefully naps. Really hard naps. I promise to tweet. I promise not to die. And to all the kickass Dailymilers who are coming into town that I finally get to meet -- YAY CLOUD!
