I'm a total dork, which we've already thoroughly discussed. Reading is my favorite. As of late, I've taken up reading multiple books at once. Kind of the equivalent of double-fisting a glass of wine and a glass of water, while simultaneously eating appetizers by the handful. Sort of like I did last night at book club.

My inaugural meeting was a blast. Good people, delicious food. And I was so looking forward to determining what next month's book would be. New books are like Christmas. Every day. After reading Lois Lowry's The Giver, I was feeling pretty good about potential future books.

And then one of my favorite books was chosen. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, which is fabulous because it's the best book ever, but mildly sad because I've clearly already read it.

So, instead, I'll read Devil in the White City, a book loaned to me by one of the book clubbers. We'll see how that goes. I've heard mixed reviews.

Other than all the book talk, I got to meet and gab with some fabulous ladies. I like to hug, so there was some of that going on, too, along with the eating. And some squealing. A little bit of snark.

That's what happens when you are in a room with 15 other women.
