Let's see, what was the last book we discussed? We Need to Talk About Kevin, I believe, by Lionel Shriver. Well, I finished it. It did keep my attention, finally, and ended up being quite disturbing. Kevin killed his classmates with a bow and arrow as they were locked in a gymnasium. The book gives a detailed account of this.
There's another shocker in the book that made my stomach turn.
I'd recommend it, I guess. I'm not promising anything, though.
I also finished Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock. It was another good book with an unpredictable twist. I didn't find the book as earth-shattering as I expected, but I liked it.
Now I'm onto Missing Mom by Joyce Carol Oates, a book that's been sitting on my shelf for over a year-and-a-half. The last book I read by Oates made me yawn, big time, but this one is turning out all right.
It follows the story of a woman and her sister after they lose their parents unexpectedly, and separately.
I'm super pumped for my next book. I'm jumping on the Stephanie Meyers bandwagon and starting the first in the Twilight series - Twilight.
(I'm a dork.)
The book is being made into a movie, so of course I must read it before this happens. And the lead vampire (vampires!) is being played by the actor who played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. (Why did you have to die, Cedric, why?)
Hooray for reading.
