So I finished Water For Elephants. LOVED IT.
I wish they'd make it into a movie, I think it'd be good. In the meantime, if you haven't read it yet, read it. I came away with a newfound appreciation for elephants and miniature persons.
I'm about a fourth of the way through We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. It's about a boy who killed seven classmates and two teachers in a school shooting. It's written from the mother's perspective, and she's reflecting on her own parenting and marriage and Kevin's childhood to figure out what went wrong.
So far... it's OK. I don't know. I find myself getting bored and falling asleep a lot as I read it, but the book came recommended by a friend, so I'm holding out hope.
I'll keep you posted.
